The secrets about fruit you didn’t know..

fruit_YHey sexy bitches! You know that phrase “1 apple a day keeps the doctor away” yet… Why do we not eat apples everyday?? Maybe cause most of you don’t like the taste like me. I prefer Oranges over apples anyday. I will introduce you to the secrets of fruit today.

Banana: Bananas are an excellent source of vitamin B6, soluble fiber, and contain moderate amounts of vitamin C, manganese and potassium.
Bananas contain melatonin and serotonin, chemicals known to help the body sleep, as well as magnesium. So it is good to eat a banana before you go to bed it will help you sleep.

Benefits of Blueberries

The health benefits of blueberries seem almost endless. The following are some key benefits that may come from adding the blueberry nutrition to your smoothies:

•Prevents urinary tract infections

•Prevents macular degeneration of the eyes

•Slows down the aging process

•Promotes better brain function

•Fights against Alzheimer’s disease and memory loss

•Prevents constipation

•Helps digestion of foods

•Helps prevent and cure cancer

•Strengthens the cardiac muscles

•Boosts the immune system

Kiwi: Kiwifruit is a rich source of vitamin C, 1.5 times the DRI scale in the U.S. per 100 grams. Its potassium content by weight is slightly less than that of a banana. It also contains vitamin E,and a small amount of vitamin A. The skin is a good source of flavonoid antioxidants (though it may also retain agricultural pesticides). The kiwifruit seed oil contains on average 62% alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid. Usually a medium size kiwifruit contains about 46 calories, 0.3 g fat, 1 g protein, 11 g carbohydrates, and 2.6 g dietary fiber found partly in the edible skin. Kiwifruit is often reported to have mild laxative effects, due to its significant levels of dietary fiber. So in other words Kiwi will make your skin glow.

The Benefits of Mango Nutrition

The phenol that are in mango’s act as antioxidants to fight the damage done by free radicals. There are also high levels of Vitamins A, C and E which are antioxidants. They also boost your immune system. This means that when you enjoy this fruit you are also helping your body repair and rejuvenate itself at the cellular level. Energize your immune system with such a simple fruit.

You can have clearer, younger looking skin and a healthier body just by sipping on mango smoothies. People who are concerned about wrinkles, acne, eczema, aging or illnesses can counter these problems with the antioxidant power of mango nutrition.

Benefits of Raspberries
When it comes to raspberry nutrition, here are the delicious nutritious facts.

Raspberries have a very high count of manganese and vitamin c, which is very good for you. The next highest nutrient in this fruit is dietary fiber. Other nutrients found in raspberries are copper, potassium, magnesium, folate, vitamin B2, vitamin B3, and omega 3 fatty acids. One of the main benefits of raspberries is that they are a tasty way to get good nutrition.

Benefits of Pineapple
A pineapple can also be a fun way to enjoy your Vitamin C for the day. Just one cup of this nutritious fruit contains almost a complete day’s requirement of both Vitamin C and Manganese. These natural health energizers may help boost your immune system, soothe an irritable digestive tract, and fight off colds.

Benefits of Pomegranates

There really are too many benefits of pomegranate nutrition for you to pass up a chance to incorporate it into your diet. Many people are not aware of the benefits so they miss all the great nutrition and antioxidants.

One of the most attractive factors of the fruit is that it has outstanding antioxidant properties. Most people are aware that other fruits such as blueberries and oranges are high in antioxidants. The antioxidant levels of pomegranates beat the other fruits hands down.

Health Benefits of Oranges
Not only is orange nutrition a great source for vitamin C, but the benefit of oranges also provide an excellent source of vitamin A, B vitamins, calcium, folate and potassium. Because oranges are also rich in a type of flavanone, known as herperidin, they are also helpful in bringing high blood pressure levels down, lowering cholesterol, and reducing risks of heart disease.

FRESH FACE: What is your acne telling you ..

Image

Have you ever heard of face mapping? If not, it’s pretty much the key to unlocking the mysteries behind problematic skin. Thanks to the combined knowledge of dermatologists who have analyzed skin behaviors and ancient Chinese medicinal methods there is a smarter way to interpret and treat skin imperfections by way of “face mapping.” Face mapping is a type of skin analysis that explains why and how certain areas of your face are connected to other parts of your body. If you ask me, it’s pretty amazing stuff…

Why do you break out in some areas and not others?

Think of your blemishes as X’s on a map that is your face. Different zones correspond to different problems. With this “map” as your guide, you can address the underlying causes of blemishes and correctly determine how to prevent them from recurring. (Don’t you wish you know about this in middle school?)

So, what are your breakouts telling you?

Using the face mapping method to decode what’s going on with your body is both incredibly informative and very extensive if you ask me. Here is an overview of the basic areas and what breakouts or abnormalities in those areas mean:

Zone 1 & 3: Bladder & Digestive System — Improve your diet and drink more water.

Zone 2: Liver — Try cutting back on alcohol, heavy food or dairy. This area can also indicate a food allergy.

Zone 4 & 10: Kidneys — Make sure you’re keeping yourself hydrated with water and cut back on liquids that dehydrate you. This means nix the soda, coffee and/or alcohol.

Zone 5 & 9: Respiratory system — Those who smoke or have allergies tend to have acne here.

Zone 6 & 8: Kidneys — Dark circles are usually a result of dehydration. Drink up!

Zone 7: Heart — Check your blood pressure and make sure you’re not using makeup that irritates your skin.

Zone 12: Stomach — Consider a detox or adding more fiber to your diet to help with digestion.

Zone 11 & 13: Hormones — Stress and hormonal changes can sometimes be alleviated with more water and a few extra servings of dark, leafy greens but if breakouts in this area persistent, make an appointment with your doctor to look into a possible hormonal imbalance. Additionally, breakouts in this area also indicate when you are ovulating (and which side).

Zone 14: Illness — Can be a sign of your body fighting bacteria to avoid illness. Take a breather and drink plenty of fluids.

So the next time you breakout or notice dark under eye circles, look to your map (or shall we say face map).

Have you heard of face mapping before?

P.S. Please note that these are general guidelines. Just because you breakout on your nose doesn’t mean you have a heart problem. As with all medical issues, it is always best to see your doctor or dermatologist for a proper prognosis.

Taylor Lautner’s Twilight Workout….your welcome gentleman

Image

Taylor Lautner went from skinny little kid to CRAZY huge muscle dude!

And he did it in almost no time!

His most outstanding feature? His ABS!

Good thing Men’s Health has his ab shredding workout all laid out:

Taylor Lautner’s beginner’s six-pack workout

Personal Trainer Jordan Yuam helped Lautner pack on 33lbs of muscle for New Moon. This plan will target your entire core in just three 40-minute sessions a week

Swiss ball pikes

Muscles worked abs, pecs
Reps 3-4 sets of 8-12

  1. To create mountains of mid-section muscle, turn to the Swiss. Drop into a press-up position. Rest your shins on a Swiss ball so your body is straight from head to ankles. “You can’t slack in this position as your abs have to flex to hold you in place,” says Brendan Chaplin.
  2. Roll the Swiss ball toward you by raising your hips. Pause, then return the ball to the start by lowering your hips and rolling the ball backward. “This works your abs through a wider range of motion because it’s hitting more muscles,” says Chaplin. As a bonus you’ll feel your chest and shoulders working, too. After all, what’s a killer set of abs without a good supporting cast?

Reverse crunches

Muscles worked obliques
Reps 3 sets of 15

  1. Hours of crunches failing to cough up the goods? It’s time to try the opposite action. Lie face up on the floor with your palms facing down. Bend your hips and knees 90 degrees – and be amazed by how much tougher this is than the standard crunch.
  2.  Raise your hips off the floor and crunch them inward. Pause, then lower your legs until your heels nearly touch the floor. If you value your back you’ll swap normal crunches for this variety, because a study in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise found they place huge strain on your lower back, but only work your abs a little. Don’t get too comfy down there, you’ve got plenty of work to do yet.

Hanging leg raises

Muscles worked abs, quads
Reps 3-4 sets of 8-12

  1.  For abs that’ll make all Homo sapiens stand up, you need to take a step back to your evolutionary past and make like you’re hanging from the trees. Grab a pull-up bar with an overhand, shoulder-width grip (or use elbow supports, if available), and hang from the bar with your knees slightly bent and feet together. San Diego State University found that this is one of the best exercises you can do for your abs. But you can make it even better by holding a dumbbell between your feet.
  2.  Simultaneously bend your knees, raise your hips, and curl your lower back underneath you as you lift your thighs toward your chest. Pause, then lower your legs back to the start. A study in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise found this move places a minimal load on your lower back while still pummelling your abs with muscle-building tension. Just what the Ab Doctor ordered.

Swiss ball leg curl

Muscles worked abs
Reps 3-4 sets of 10-12

  1. Lie on the floor with your calves on a Swiss ball and your arms at your sides.
  2. Squeeze your glutes to raise your hips, so your body is in a straight line from shoulder to ankle. “This strengthens your lower back and keep your abs drawn in,” says Chaplin. So your gut will look leaner.
  3. Pause, then bend your legs to roll the ball back towards you. Straighten your legs to roll it back out and then lower your body to the floor. For a extra calf workout, point your feet out. Researchers at the University of West Florida found this roped in more of your calf muscles.

Prone cobra

Muscles worked abs, backs
Reps 3 sets of 60 seconds

  1.  Great abs don’t work alone, they’re supported by a solid lower back, which this move goes some way to giving you. Lie face down on the floor with your legs straight and arms next to your sides. Contract your glutes and lower back muscles, and raise your head, chest, arms, and legs off the floor. Research in the Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies found this move is one the best for rehabilitating lower back problems – and warding them off – especially for those stuck in front of a screen all day.
  2. Rotate your arms so that your thumbs are pointing towards the ceiling. Your hips should be the only parts of your body touching the floor.

V-up

Muscles worked abs, hips
Reps 3-4 sets of 8-12

  1. Lie with your legs straight and arms extended behind your head. This works more muscles in your core than the crunch, according to research in The Journal of Strength & Conditioning Research. It’s the best of a good bunch.
  2. Raise your arms and legs so they’re 45 degrees to the floor in a “V”. Return to the start. That’s it, you’re on track for a solid set of abs in 6-8 weeks. But make sure they’re hair-free: the “werewolf” look only works on the big screen.

Like we keep saying, the secret to fitness is a strong core!

Emily VanCamp Talks Love, Flat Abs and Body Image

Image

The Revenge star has finally broken into Hollywood’s exclusive It Girl circle—after years of paying dues in the ensemble casts of Everwood and Brothers & Sisters. She shares her secrets to getting what you want, including good love, flat abs and peace of mind. Plus, go behind the scenes with Emily.

“Pilates is my favorite core strengthener. I do it three or four times a week. With all the strengthening and lengthening, it’s like ballet. Plus, you get to do it lying down! The Hundreds move is a killer. I can’t say it’s my favorite, because it’s not easy, but it works!”

Try it! Lie back, knees bent at 90 degrees, shins parallel to the floor. Extend arms at sides, a few inches off floor. As you curl your chin toward your chest and shoulder blades off floor, scoop your navel in and up. Pump arms toward floor for five counts and exhale for five counts. Do 10 sets of 10 for 100 pumps.

Dress, Isabel Marant. Earrings, Huichol.

“I’m on-set 12 to 15 hours a day, and I make sure to eat every couple of hours to stay high-energy. I love my carbs, but I try to balance them with protein, like fish or chicken, and plenty of vegetables—and not nibble too many doughnuts. My chicken souvlaki is easy, healthy and great with a Greek salad.”

“Women are hard on themselves. I’m trying to stop focusing on my flaws and appreciate what I love about my body. It’s tough—the need to be perfect was drilled into me when I did ballet. But I think people are sick of stick-thin actresses. I mean, it’s not real. People have said to me, ‘Wow, you look so much bigger on TV.’ I can’t let that hurt me. You have to be comfortable enough with yourself to say, ‘Screw off. I like how I look, and I’m not going to starve myself.’”

Emily’s Chicken Souvlaki

Image

2 big handfuls fresh oregano, chopped
5 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/2 cup olive oil
Juice of 1 lemon
6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 1/4 lb), cut into cubes

In a bowl, combine first 4 ingredients; season with salt and pepper. Marinate chicken in mixture for 2 hours. Soak 10 wooden skewers in water 30 minutes. Thread chicken cubes on skewers. Grill over medium-high heat, turning often, until cooked through, 20 minutes.

What’s your favorite treat?

“Once in a while, you have to give in to a craving for an In-N-Out Burger.”

Of course once in awhile we can treat ourselves! Please be sure to like this post if you would like more in the future. Luckily I was able to get in a few questions before her photo shoot. Thanks once again to Miss VanCamp!! Also we look forward to your future endeavors.

With Love,

Thinsanity bitches!
